Job summary

Jefferson Regional Specialty Hospital invites applications for an RN Educator & Infection Preventionist. The role focuses on staff education, infection prevention, and program development to improve patient safety and care quality across departments.

You will lead orientation, ongoing staff development, and competency training while collaborating with leadership to strengthen infection control measures and reporting to committees.

Qualifications

• Current state or compact state RN license is required.
• Associate's degree in nursing required; BSN or nursing diploma preferred.
• ACLS/BLS/CPR or related certifications may be required as part of staff education.
• Minimum of 2 years' bedside RN experience.
• Experience planning, coordinating, evaluating and directing educational activities for clinical staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead education programs including clinical orientation for new hires and ongoing staff development.
• Coordinate skills fairs and competency training for nursing staff.
• Develop and oversee hospital-wide Infection Control Plan and evaluate its effectiveness.
• Provide infection prevention education and orientation regarding isolation techniques.
• Collaborate with leadership to promote learning accountability and staff development.
• Monitor outbreaks and maintain surveillance data; report findings to leadership and committees.
• Ensure CPR training coordination and current certifications for staff.
