Job summary

LCMC Health in New Orleans East Hospital is seeking an experienced ER nurse to deliver compassionate, high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

You will coordinate care, monitor patient conditions, educate families, and collaborate with the care team to ensure a safe, efficient and welcoming experience for every patient.

Current Louisiana RN license and BLS/ACLS/PALS; TNCC/ENPC preferred; 1 year ER experience ideal.

Qualifications

• Current Louisiana RN license required.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications required or obtained within 6 months for new grads.
• TNCC/ENPC certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize, coordinate and delegate all care touchpoints for patients.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients, families, and staff.
• Monitor and engage with patients and care team regarding changes in condition.
• Prevent and treat wounds and monitor infection control procedures.
• Ensure continuity of care and effective communication across teams.
• Educate patients and families using appropriate resources.

Your Everyday

Prioritize, coordinate and delegate all care touchpoints for your patients.

Maintain and advocate a safe environment for everyone.

Monitor and engage with patients, families, and appropriate care team members concerning significant events or patient condition changes.

Prevent and treat wounds.

Monitor and execute Joint Commission infection control and environment of care requirements.

Ensure continuity of care, efficient throughput, consistent communications, and an exceptional experience for every patient.

Advise and consult with supervisor when unable to complete assignments or perform tasks promptly, effectively, or safely.

Initiate patient and family education using appropriate resources and care services.Address patient questions and concerns.

Contribute to the team by assistingothers without being asked.

The Must-Haves

Minimum

Current nursing license to practice in the state of Louisiana and as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing

Current American Heart Association BLS certification.

Current ACLS, CPI and PALS certifications.(New grad must obtain within 6 months of hire).

Current TNCC (CHNOLA and UMC ERs only)

ENPC (can be substitute for PALS at UMC or EJMC ERs)

Preferred

Emergency Room experience and ER nursing knowledge

Minimum Required: 1 year for a flex RN position

Preferred: 2 years in a related clinical area
