Job summary

CGH Medical Center in Sterling, IL seeks a PRN Registered Nurse to support unit-based patient care using the nursing process. You will participate in assessments, care planning, medication administration, IV therapies, and patient education, while collaborating with other disciplines to ensure safe discharge planning.

Responsibilities include maintaining accurate records, recognizing emergencies, and serving as a role model for clinical practice.

Qualifications

• Illinois RN licensure is required.
• ADN required; BSN preferred.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Basic computer knowledge preferred.
• Prior drawing blood preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of medical equipment and instruments.

Responsibilities

• Administers narcotics, medications and IV therapies per RN scope.
• Performs nursing assessments and develops care plans.
• Maintains accurate patient records of care given.
• Educates patient/family and plans discharge needs.
• Responds to emergencies and supports the care team.
• Models professional practice and coordinates with other staff.

Reports to Department of Nursing Director.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Ensures optimal patient care utilizing the nursing process.Maintains patient records and documents to ensure an accurate record of the patient’s medical and nursing care.
