Job Responsibilities:

• Provide professional nursing care to assigned patients, collaborating with the medical team to ensure quality care.
• Perform activities in accordance with hospital policies and supervise ancillary staff as appropriate.
• Conduct triage, recognize critical presentations (e.g., stroke, chest pain), and use green/red bags accordingly.
• Manage medication reconciliation, IV starts, and blood collection.
• Assess and address patient and family needs, evaluate responses to interventions, and document findings.
• Initiate discharge planning and provide education on hospitalization, medications, and follow-up care.
• Practice safe medication administration, document responses, and perform medication reconciliation during patient transitions.
• Assist in orientation and training of team members.

Minimum Education & Skills:

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work independently.
• Ability to work effectively under stress and in a fast-paced environment.

Certifications & Licenses:

• Current RN license in NC (or multi-state license).
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS and PALS certifications within 3 months of hire.
• Handle with Care certification within 4 months of hire.

Experience:

• 1-3 years of recent acute care experience preferred.
