Job summary

University Hospitals Lake West ED is seeking an RN to provide age-specific nursing care in a fast-paced Level 3 trauma ED with 20 beds and 5 super track rooms. The unit is stroke and chest pain certified.

The RN delivers relationship-based care, applies essential clinical skills, and collaborates to optimize patient outcomes and operations. An ADN is required with Ohio RN licensure; BLS is required; ACLS/PALS may be required by unit standards.

Qualifications

RN license Ohio and/or Multi-State Compact (Required Upon Hire)
Basic Life Support (BLS) Required Upon Hire
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required by unit standards
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) may be required by unit standards

Job description

The UH Lake West ED is a Level 3 Trauma Center consists of 20 beds on the main side of the ED for acute patients. We also have 5 super track rooms that allow us to see lower acuity patients and keep patient flow moving through the ED. We are stroke and chest pain certified.

Sign on bonus of $6000 for experienced RN's

Provides safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using the nursing process in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status.

Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Education

Other Accredited Program: Diploma in Nursing or
ADN (Associate's Degree in Nursing) (Required)
BSN (Bachelor's Degree in Nursing) (Preferred)
MN (Master in Nursing) (Preferred)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Knowledge of nursing process and practice. (Required proficiency)
Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed clinical therapies (ie. stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices) (Required proficiency)

Licenses and Certifications

Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License (Required Upon Hire)
Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required Upon Hire)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) May be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit. Refer to ACLS/PALS Unit Requirements document found on DWP Nursing Portal to determine requirements by unit.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) May be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit. Refer to ACLS/PALS Unit Requirements document found on DWP Nursing Portal to determine requirements by unit.
