Shiner Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) to lead nursing services, guide staff with compassion, and maintain clinical excellence for residents. The DON will oversee compliance with all applicable guidelines and ensure high-quality care across the facility.

The role includes managing recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, payroll oversight, and care-plan development in collaboration with physicians.

Qualifications

• RN license and compassionate leadership required.
• Proven leadership in long-term care or geriatrics.
• Strong clinical skills and restorative care focus.
• Knowledge of nursing home regulations and compliance standards.
• Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with company, state, and federal guidelines across nursing services.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and performance management of nursing staff.
• Provide hands-on support on the floor to maintain high-quality care.
• Review payroll submissions for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain accurate resident records and documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans.
• Ensure nursing staff have timely access to equipment and supplies.
• Coach, mentor, and develop nursing staff to drive improvements.
