Chisholm Trail Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Lockhart, TX is seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) to lead nursing services and shape the resident care experience with clinical excellence and compassionate leadership.

The DON will oversee recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, payroll reviews, and care planning with physicians and the interdisciplinary team, ensuring regulatory compliance, quality outcomes, and timely access to equipment and supplies.

Qualifications

• RN license in Texas
• Leadership experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing
• Strong clinical skills with restorative care approach
• Knowledge of nursing home regulations and compliance standards
• Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving capabilities

Responsibilities

• Ensure Compliance: Oversee nursing services per guidelines
• Lead the Team: Manage recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and performance of nursing staff
• Support Direct Care: Step in on the floor to maintain high-quality care
• Review Payroll: Approve payroll submissions for accuracy and compliance
• Maintain Records: Monitor resident records for accuracy and documentation
• Develop Care Plans: Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
• Provide Resources: Ensure access to equipment and supplies for staff
• Coach and Mentor: Lead, mentor, and support nursing staff to improve outcomes
