Position Summary
This role provides leadership and support to senior executive leadership responsible for all nursing and designated patient care functions within the hospital. The RN Director will assist in assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practice across multiple units. The role carries 24/7 responsibility for assigned areas and ensures high-quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, staff competency, and effective resource management.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain an active and current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and advocacy for professional nursing practice.
- Serve as a role model for clinical staff and support a culture of high-quality care.
- Collaborate with hospital leadership to ensure efficient operations and quality outcomes.
Education Requirements
- Required: Associate degree in nursing with a Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field or a BSN.
- Preferred: MSN or master’s degree in a healthcare-related field.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Experience Requirements
- Nursing experience with a minimum of 2 years of progressive management experience in a hospital setting as a manager or director.
Certifications
- BLS (American Heart Association) required upon hire
- ACLS required within 3 months of hire
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven leadership and operational management ability.
- Ability to serve as a role model and advocate for nursing professionals.
- 2+ to 5 years of nursing leadership experience.
