Job summary

HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital seeks an experienced RN Director Med Surg to lead the Med Surg department, drive quality and efficiency, and ensure patient-centered care. You will collaborate with physicians, managers, and staff to meet performance goals.

The role includes ensuring compliance with JCAHO and regulatory standards, fostering teamwork, and leveraging HCA’s resources to support a high-functioning nursing team in a large, 380-bed facility on the Treasure Coast.

Qualifications

• Current Florida license as Registered Nurse (RN) or compact licensure as required by Florida rules.
• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or within 30 days of start date.
• Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care hospital.
• Minimum of 2 years of management experience as Nursing Manager or Nursing Director in an acute care hospital setting.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Directs and manages the operations and activities of the Med Surg department. Responsible for the overall management of the departments operations to achieve quality improvement, fiscal, productivity, and patient satisfaction goals and objectives established. Responsible for the staff performance and the accomplishment of departmental responsibilities in accord with corporate, hospital, department, and safety policies and procedures to meet both company care and regulatory requirements. Responsible for providing high-quality patient care to and acting as a liaison with patients and their representative, physicians, employees, and community agencies. Responsible for the efficient operation of the departments and optimum use of resources to maximize productivity and minimize cost.

The Director assumes the role as a leader in planning, directing and managing the department and staff to assure quality service. The director is responsible for meeting JCAHO Standards, complying with corporate policy and procedures, promoting teamwork with physicians and all health care providers, promoting internal and external customer satisfaction, and appropriate resource management.

What qualifications you will need:

• Current Florida license as Registered Nurse or Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions)
• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

• Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care Hospital setting
• Minimum of 2 years management experience as a Nursing Manager or Nursing Director in an acute care Hospital Setting
