Job summary

The Cleveland Clinic’s H51 Colorectal Surgery Unit is seeking an experienced RN to provide direct nursing care, implement and update patient care plans, monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and educate patients and families. The unit operates with rotating day/night shifts, offering a dynamic, patient-focused environment.

Minimum qualifications include graduation from an accredited nursing program, active RN licensure, BLS certification, and at least one year of acute care RN

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
• One year of current acute care RN experience OR military RN experience.

The H51 Colorectal Surgery Unit houses 16 experienced Colorectal Surgeons specializing in numerous medical diagnoses, including Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, colon cancer and genetic bowel diseases. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send-off. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare education as needed. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering education and online/in-person courses to enhance your skills.

A caregiver in this position works rotating days/nights from 7:00AM - 7:30PM or 7:00PM – 7:30PM, with every other weekend requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $35.50

Maximum hourly: $55.60
