Cleveland Clinic Main Campus is seeking an experienced RN to join the H71 Digestive Disease General Surgery Unit. You will provide perioperative nursing care to adults and children, perform scrub and circulating roles, assist surgeons, and prepare the OR with instruments and equipment.

A BSN/ADN and active RN licensure are required, with BLS and ACLS compliance as noted. Minimum one year internal or two years external related clinical experience is preferred, with day/7:00am–7:30pm shifts and

The H71 Digestive Disease General Surgery Unit at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus provides world‑class care for patients needing many complex abdominal surgeries, including Total Abdominal Reconstruction, Whipple, HIPEC, MAL’s, Bowl Resection, Gastrectomy, Splenectomy, Liver Resection, Fistula Maintenance and Repair, and Pancreatectomy. Patients come to our unit from all over the world seeking our expertise in surgical intervention and care.

A caregiver in this position works 7:00am—7:30pm. day/night rotation. Every other holiday rotation.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Deliver professional nursing care in an operative setting to adult and pediatric patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures.
• Perform scrub functions, such as selecting and handling instruments and supplies.
• Performing circulating functions, such as monitoring, recording and communicating patients’ conditions and managing the overall nursing care of patients before, during and after the procedure.
• Assist the operating physician with surgical tasks, such as hemostasis, suturing, wound exposure and patient positioning.
• Prepare the operating room, surgical instruments and surgical equipment for use.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program)
• Current licensure as Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• **If performing moderate/procedural sedation, must have Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire
• Internal applicants must have one year of recent related clinical experience.
• External applicants must have two years recent related clinical experience.
• Successfully pass all prescreen competency assessments required.

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye‑hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
• Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 25 pounds and ability to push, pull, and navigate supply carts weighing > 75 pounds periodically.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $35.50

Maximum hourly: $55.60
