Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking an experienced RN - Dialysis at the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus. You will deliver patient-centered dialysis care on inpatient units, using state-of-the-art technology and following a patient-first approach.

The role involves caring for inpatients on a three 12-hour shift schedule with every other Saturday, on-call 1–2 times every six weeks, and holiday coverage as needed.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • One year current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Military RN experience considered.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Evaluate and revise plan of care to achieve outcomes.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and families with educational materials.
  • Administer prescribed medications per nursing protocol.

On our Dialysis Unit, you will be caring for our inpatients and will use ourstate-of-the-artdialysis technology and follow our ‘patient-first’methodologyto deliver exceptional care.As an Dialysis RN on our team, you will deliver exceptional care throughout the patient care journey. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed.

A caregiver in this role works days from 6:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.

The schedule includes three 12-hour shifts, every other Saturday (closed on Sundays) with on-call responsibilities 1–2 times every six weeks as needed, along with holiday requirements.


A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement andmonitorpatient care plans.

  • Evaluate, update and revise plan of care tofacilitateachievement of planned and expected outcomes
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess andcoordinatepatients’ discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and family with educational materials considering cultural issues and other special concerns
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatmentin accordance withapproved nursing protocol

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • One yearcurrent acute care RN experience in a hospital setting
  • Will consider military RN experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)or American Red Cross

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
  • Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
