Job summary

Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus in Cleveland is seeking an RN for the Urology Medical/Surgical Unit. The unit specializes in post-operative urology care with focus on pain control, bowel/bladder function, DVT prevention and ambulation.

Day/night rotation is required, with shifts from 7:00am–7:30pm or 7:00pm–7:30am. The RN will provide direct nursing care, administer medications, monitor patient conditions, and participate in discharge planning and patient education within a world‑class academic

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• One year of current acute care RN experience
• Military RN experience will be considered

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.

Cleveland Clinic’s G90 Urology Medical/Surgical Unit is dedicated to the care of post‑operative urology and overflow surgical patients and focuses on pain control, return of bowel and bladder function, DVT prevention and ambulation. Patients in this unit range in age from youngadulttogeriatric,however, the most common patient population is approximately 65 years old. Some of the primary procedures performed on this unit include partial nephrectomy, radical nephrectomy, radical prostatectomy, urolithiasis, and cystectomy with continent/incontinent urinary diversion.

A caregiver in this position worksday/night rotation, from 7:00am—7:30pm or 7:00pm—7:30am.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide direct nursing care.
