Job summary

Endeavor Health's Elmhurst Hospital in Elmhurst, IL is seeking a Registered Nurse for Diagnostic Imaging. This Per Diem/PRN role offers flexible hours with on-call weekends and holidays, including 0700-1530 to 0830-1700 shift windows.

You will assess patients, administer prescribed therapies, and support physicians during procedures within a collaborative imaging team. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, has ACLS, and strong communication skills to provide compassionate

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or higher required.
  • Critical Care experience preferred.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Render professional nursing care per physician plans to provide quality patient care.
  • Assess patient condition, administer drugs, observe progress, and report reactions.
  • Assist in developing treatment plans and support physicians with procedures and exams.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service and communicate clearly with patients to reduce anxiety.

Hourly Pay Range:

$36.00 - $55.80 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.


Position Highlights:


  • Position: Registered Nurse - Diagnostic Imaging


  • Location: Elmhurst Hospital, Elmhurst, IL


  • Per Diem/PRN


  • Hours as Needed: Monday-Friday, 0700-1530 to 0830-1700


  • Rotating Weekends, On-Call (Weekends only), Holidays (On-Call only)



What you will do:

Under general supervision, renders professional nursing care to patients in accordance with physician's treatment plans in order to provide quality patient care. In doing so, assesses patients' condition, recognizes deviations, administers prescribed drugs, provides treatments, observes patients' progress, records pertinent observations and reports reactions to drugs and treatments and takes follow up action as needed. Develops or assists in developing patient treatment plans. Assists physicians with cases, procedures or examinations, functions as a team player to fulfill unit goals. Delivers and ensures customer service in all aspects to job, being attentive of eye contact, facial/body expressions and tone of voice. Explains procedure to patient, giving opportunity for questions to reduce anxiety and promote trust..


What you will need:


  • A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or higher required. Critical Care experience, preferred.


  • Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure required.


  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required.


  • A relatively high level of analytical ability is required. Incumbents must collect, analyze, and interpret data in order to solve problems requiring a professional level of knowledge in a specific discipline and/or design relatively complex clinical or administrative systems and programs.


  • A relatively high level of communication skills is required in order to lead, teach, and persuade others and/or interact effectively with others in very difficult situations.


  • Work is not completely standardized. Assignments are often received in the form of results expected, due dates, and general procedures to follow.


  • Work requires the ability to walk or stand for an hour of more at a time, lift or carry objects weighing more than 20 pounds, push or pull laundry or supply carts, gurneys or wheelchairs, lift and position patients, proofread and check documents for errors, use a keyboard to enter, retrieve or transform words or data, closely examine specimens, images, or reports.
