Qualifications

• Active RN license in Texas.
• Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience in Day Surgery.
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS must be obtained within specified timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy and preoperative medications.
• Perform surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver patient-centered care with evidence-based practices.
• Be part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Document changes in patient condition and care.
• Educate patients and families about condition and follow-up.
