Job summary

ChristianaCare, Union Hospital in Elkton, Maryland, is hiring an RN for the Clinical Decision Unit, 36 hours per week on the day shift (7a–7p, weekends and holidays as per department guidelines). The role emphasizes evidence-based practice, patient-centered care, and safe medication administration.

The successful candidate will hold, or commit to obtain within three years, a BSN and have at least one year of med/surg experience. A strong foundation in patient education and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• BLS required.
• At least one year med/surg experience as a RN.

Responsibilities

• Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health and/or the situation.
• Analyzes the assessment data to determine nursing diagnoses or relevant issues.
• Identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or the situation.
• Develops a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain the expected outcomes.
• Implements the plan of care and coordinates care delivery; safely administers medications and treatments as ordered.
• Delivers nursing interventions in response to patient’s diagnoses.
• Demonstrates sensitivity to patient and family’s emotional, spiritual and cultural needs.
• Promotes health and safe environment through education and teaching.
