Job summary

ChristianaCare, Union Hospital in Elkton, Maryland, is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to work 36 hours per week on the Day shift for the Clinical Decision Unit. The Clinical Decision Unit uses the nursing process to deliver safe, patient- and family-centered care, with the RN accountable for maintaining competency and safely administering treatments as ordered.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred; commitment to BSN within three years of hire with relevant experience.
• At least one year of med/surg nursing experience as an RN.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health and/or the situation.
• Analyzes the assessment data to determine nursing diagnoses or the relevant issues.
• Identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or the situation.
• Develops a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain the expected outcomes.
• Implements the identified plan of care and coordinates care delivery; safely administers meds.
• Provides or delegates nursing interventions in response to the patient’s medical and nursing diagnoses.
• Evaluates progress toward outcomes and revises the plan of care accordingly.
