Job summary

MercyOne Medical Group – North Iowa in Mason City, IA is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the acute care team. This full-time role offers 12-hour day shifts (7:30a–7p), weekend and holiday rotation, and a sign-on bonus starting at $10,000.

The RN will provide patient care, assess needs, develop and update care plans, coordinate with LPNs and aides, and educate patients and families in line with professional standards and hospital policy. Iowa licensure and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in Iowa or a multi-state license
• Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
• Previous experience in acute care preferred
• Proof of BLS (American Heart Association) available prior to employment or within 60 days
• Mandatory Reporting: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse within 6 months of hire
• Cardiac Dysrhythmias and Management class completed within 3 months of hire and annual refresh

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patient needs across physical, psychosocial, environmental, spiritual, and education domains.
• Develop and update the plan of care, including discharge planning, per standards and patient needs.
• Guide and direct patient care activities using clinical/critical thinking and evidence-based practice.
• Provide daily direction to Licensed Practical Nurse and Nurse Assistant.
• Facilitate learning for patient/family with a teaching plan tailored to needs.
