Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in a hospital setting, utilizing the nursing process and adhering to professional standards. The role requires current Massachusetts nursing licensure and BLS, with unit-specific certifications as needed.

Schedule includes 12‑hour day shifts, Holidays every third, and weekend rotations. Signing bonus may be available; final offer reflects scheduled hours, experience, and internal equity considerations.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.
• BLS is a requirement for every RN unless ACLS certification is current.
• Unit-specific certifications and competencies as required.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the Nursing Process for the delivery and management of patient care from admission to discharge.
• Performs patient assessment/reassessment according to standard procedure.
• Develops and coordinates individual plan of care including discharge planning.
• Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluates nursing care within the assigned setting.
• Delegates appropriately to others per job description and competency level.
• Documents patient care according to standard procedure.
• Develops, implements/coordinates and documents Education Plan for patient/family/significant other.
• Ensures quality and continuity of care through collaboration with other health care providers.
• Administers medications, performs treatments, therapies and operates equipment.
• Assists physician with treatment and procedures and special tests as required.
• Participates in and supports Nursing Governance activities.
• Assumes responsibility for professional growth and staff education.
• Participates in performance improvement initiatives and quality daily operations.
