Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities:

• Utilize the nursing process to deliver appropriate patient care in a cost-effective, quality-driven, and patient-focused manner. Collect relevant social, psychological, developmental, and spiritual data from patients, significant others, and healthcare team members.
• Perform ongoing assessments, formulate nursing diagnoses and goals, plan appropriate interventions, and evaluate the outcomes of these interventions.
• Consistently document in patient and unit records according to healthcare standards to meet legal and quality care requirements.
• Provide education and information to patients and families on topics such as Pain Management, Nutrition, Skin Integrity, Fall Prevention, Diabetes, Disease Processes, Smoking Cessation, and Discharge Instructions.
• Demonstrate commitment to the goals and values of patients, the hospital, the community, and the nursing profession through cost containment, confidentiality, ethical decision-making, and patient safety.
• Use research-based interventions appropriate to the patient population, participate in research activities, identify research opportunities, and collaborate with Outcomes Managers and departments.
• Participate in quality of care activities, evaluate nursing practice effectiveness, collect and analyze quality data, and develop action plans for improvement.
