Job summary

ARMStaffing is seeking a Registered Nurse for the CVICU in Rochester, NY for a 13-week contract. Night shift 7 PM–7 AM with weekend and holiday availability required. You will deliver expert critical care to post-operative cardiac surgery patients and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team.

The role involves arterial/central line care, ventilator management, sedation, ABG interpretation, and monitoring ICU patients on vasoactive drips. Active NY RN license and required certifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years CVICU or equivalent experience.
• Experience with Epic charting system.
• Active New York RN license (no pending licenses).
• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Manage arterial, central and PICC lines; administer blood products.
• Provide ventilator management and chest tube support.
• Perform ABG interpretation and manage IV sedation/paralytics.
• Monitor patients on cardiac/vasoactive drips (CABG, Impella, IABP, LVAD/RVAD, Swan-Ganz).
• Interpret dysrhythmias and manage multi-system organ failure.
• Ensure infection prevention and proper PPE use.
• Care for patients on CRRT/ECMO.

Job Description

The RN in the CVICU will provide expert care for critically ill cardiac surgery patients, including those undergoing advanced cardiac device management and managing complex multi-organ failure cases. This role will involve closely monitoring patients and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support family communication and post-operative rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

• Manage arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, and administer blood products.
• Provide ventilator management and support for chest tube insertion/removal.
• Perform ABG interpretation and manage continuous IV sedation and paralytics.
• Monitor patients on cardiac and vasoactive drips, including CABG, Impella, IABP, LVAD/RVAD, and Swan-Ganz.
• Interpret dysrhythmias and manage patients with multi-system organ failure.
• Ensure infection prevention and utilize PPE effectively.
• Provide care for patients supported by CRRT and ECMO.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in CVICU or a similar role.
• Must have experience with Epic charting system.

Certifications/Licensure

• Active New York Single State RN license required (no pending licenses accepted).
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certification required.
