Job summary

Glenwood Regional Medical Center seeks a Cardiovascular ICU RN to direct, plan and coordinate nursing care on the CVICU for assigned shifts, with a focus on patient, physician and staff needs.

The RN will deliver skilled care through the nursing process in line with hospital policies, coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team, advocate for patients, and uphold current professional nursing standards in a fast-paced critical care setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Louisiana Nursing License in good standing.
• ACLS within the first 90 days of employment.
• BLS within 30 days of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Direct, plan, and organize nursing activities on the CVICU unit for assigned shifts.
• Deliver skilled patient care following the nursing process per policies.
• Coordinate care among patients, families, physicians, staff and ancillary teams.
• Advocate for patients and maintain current nursing practice standards.

Education

POSITION SUMMARY

The Cardiovascular ICU RN is responsible and accountable for directing, planning and organizing the nursing activities on the CVICU unit for an assigned shift with focus on patient, physician and staff needs. The RN is responsible for delivering skilled patient care through the nursing process in accordance with established policies and procedures; for coordinating patient care through the nursing process in accordance with established policies and procedures; for coordinating care among patient/family, medicine, nursing, and ancillary and other team personnel; acts as patient advocate; and maintains current knowledge and standards of professional nursing practice.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current Louisiana Nursing License in good standing
• Previous clinical nursing experience in CV-ICU desired
• BLS required within 30 days of hire date.
• ACLS within the first 90 days of employment
