Job summary

Allegheny General CTSICU in Pittsburgh is seeking a full-time registered nurse to provide bedside care for post-surgical cardiac, thoracic, vascular and transplant patients. The unit operates 24 beds with single occupancy rooms and rotates weekends and holidays.

You will assess needs, plan and deliver care using the nursing process, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team from admission to discharge, and educate patients and families according to age and culture.

Qualifications

• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Background Clearance Certificate
• Current State of PA RN licensure OR multi-state licensure via eNLC
• CPR certification

THE UNIT:

The Allegheny General CTSICU is 24 beds with all single occupancy rooms. The Unit provides post-surgical ICU care to cardiac, thoracic, vascular and transplant patients. Nurses are trained to scrub and circulate on the floor, as well as provide support and treatment to patients with mechanical circulatory devices (VAD, ECMO, Impella, balloon pump). The unit is proud to be a Platinum Level ECMO Center of Excellence and holds the Comprehensive Cardiac Center Certification (C4).
