Allegheny Health Network's West Penn Hospital is seeking an RN for the ICU Float Pool. The 16-bed critical care/burn unit treats adult and pediatric patients with varying acuity.

The position includes a $3.50/hour allowance under the West Penn CBA. Minimum 2 years ICU nursing, PA RN license or eNLC, ACLS, CPR, and preferred PALS; related background clearances required.

• Current State of PA RN licensure OR current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• CPR – American Heart Association.

RN FLOAT POOL CRITICAL CARE (ICU):

West Penn Hospital’s Float Pool are highly trained expert RN’s who cover all areas of their specialty and clinical expertise. There is a variety of types of patients we receive and the level of acuity in the departments. This grouping includes the critical care/burn unit is a 16-bed unit caring for both adult and pediatric patients.

This position receives a $3.50/hour allowance per West Penn CBA.

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

The Registered Nurse assesses human responses and plans, implements and evaluates nursing care for individuals or families for whom the nurse is responsible. The Registered Nurse is fully responsible for all actions as a licensed nurse and is accountable to patients for the quality of care delivered. Scheduling requirements for nurses in the Enhanced Float Pool must be balanced within each specific Section of the Float Pool. This is not dependent on the total number of FTEs. (i.e., if there are seven (7) PCU nurses scheduled in a week, one (1) nurse should be scheduled per day). Unit groupings or cluster assignments are defined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

• 2 years acute care nursing experience required in ICU
