Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health's Critical Care Center is seeking a registered nurse for a 36hpw schedule, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with rotating weekends and holidays. The unit provides 24-hour intensivist oversight for adult and geriatric patients with medical or surgical issues.

Applicants must hold a Mass RN license with current BLS/ACLS, and have 6–12 months of recent critical care experience, plus competency in ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring. CCRN/BSN are preferred.

Qualifications

• Mass RN license required and current with valid credentials.
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• 6–12 months recent ICU/critical care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 13-bed ICU with intensivist coverage.
• Monitor and titrate ventilators, vasoactive and sedation meds.
• Recognize and respond to cardiac dysrhythmias and hemodynamic changes.

UNIT DESCRIPTION

The Critical Care Center is a 13-bed critical care unit with 24 hour intensivist coverage that serves adult and geriatric patients with medical and/or surgical issues. Preference will be given, by seniority, to those qualified nurses who were serially displaced within the 18 months following his/her displacement according to MNA contract section 9.4 (f)(1).

Minimum Requirements

• Current Mass RN license
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certification required.
• At least 6months-1 year recent (within the last 12months) critical care experience required; ability to demonstrate competency in core critical care skills: ventilator management, vasoactive and sedation titration, hemodynamic monitoring, cardiac dysrhythmia recognition and management, post STEMI care; evidence of relevant continuing education

Recommended Requirements

• BSN & CCRN Preferred.
• Documented professional development activities.

Pay Range

$37.14 - $82.22 This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. The pay range for this position is established and governed by the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Employees hired into this position will receive compensation consistent with the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
