Responsibilities

Report directly to the Warden/Facility Administrator or Health Service Administrator for daily clinical operations within the medical department.
Manage and supervise daily nursing/clinical activities.
Supervise nursing and non-licensed health care providers; evaluate performance, train new employees, and handle discipline as needed.
Provide direct patient care within the scope of licensure and apply nursing skills for inmates/residents.
Ensure adequate staffing; fill in during short-staffing and may perform nursing duties including administering medications and screening patients.
Perform triage and physical assessments.
Perform emergency care and coordinate with Licensed Independent Provider for treatment orders.
