Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Detroit seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to join a 40-bed neuro unit, providing leadership in coordinating and delivering high-quality patient care.

The role requires strong clinical knowledge, ability to plan, implement and evaluate care, and to communicate effectively with patients, families, and the health care team. BSN preferred; Michigan RN licensure and ACLS/NIH certification are required; contingent I status and variable shift apply.

• Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and implements solutions.

Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• BSN preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
• RN experience preferred.

Certifications/Licensures Required

• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
• Health care provider certification (BCLS).

Additional Information

UNIT OVERVIEW

40 bed unit specializing in neuro patients. Some of the patient population consisting of stoke/stroke-like symptoms, seizure, brain bleeds, and other neuro type diagnosis. In addition, will see small number of cardiac patients with a couple cardiac drips that are not titrated, and any other patient’s needed placement. All RNs ACLS and NIH certified.
