Job summary

North Mississippi Health Services (NMHS) is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide safe, quality patient care using the nursing process and to communicate effectively with a multidisciplinary team. The role includes leadership in prioritizing, delegating, and evaluating assignments and adapting to changing patient needs.

The RN will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and NMHS policies, contribute to patient/family education, and participate in staff training and preceptor activities.

Qualifications

• Licensed by the state board of Nursing.
• Knowledge of nursing process and patient care documentation.
• Ability to educate patients and families.
• Willingness to participate in staff training and preceptor activities.
• Strong communication with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Uses the nursing process to provide safe, quality patient care and document accordingly.
• Ensures compliance with NMHS policies as directed by the Nurse Manager and Educator.
• Provides patient/family education and acts as a resource for staff and new employees.
• Participates in the Preceptor class to train new employees.
• Maintains communication with multidisciplinary team to provide holistic care for the patient.
• Attends daily huddles to ensure proper assignments and identify team members for the shift.
• Projects caring, friendly and helpful image to patients and customers.
• Keeps patients and families informed using the patient’s white board.
• Maintains competency by staying informed of changing trends in nursing practice.
• Complies with regulatory and accrediting agency requirements; Licensed by the state board.
