Job Description:
Demonstrates AdventHealth’s core values of Integrity, Compassion, Balance, Excellence, Stewardship, and Teamwork. Participates in both formal and informal education sessions with Coding, CDI, and other clinical staff. Educates on the importance of documentation and necessary verbiage to ensure optimal reimbursement, adherence to coding guidelines, and complete documentation. Evaluates Coding/CDI discrepancies concurrently and retrospectively, collaborating with Coding and CDI staff to resolve issues and ensure compliant, accurate, and optimal reimbursement. Assists in identifying performance indicators and developing monitoring strategies, data collection methods, and reporting methodologies. Utilizes process improvement skills to optimize processes as a continuous improvement cycle. Follows industry coding and documentation guidelines to maintain system-wide coding consistency and ensure compliance with all relevant government and regulatory agencies. Collaborates with other departments to address coding needs, resolve coding errors, and address coding-related questions/concerns. Performs special projects and other duties as assigned, with the ability to deliver oral and written presentations. Performs other duties as assigned.
