Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Supervise CNA students on campus, during transport, and at clinical sites.
• Assist instructors in developing lesson plans and supervising mandated CNA skills.
• Document student progress according to IDPH standards and provide progress updates.
• Maintain safe, positive learning environments and ensure safety of students and equipment.
• Collaborate with office staff to ensure IDPH documentation is submitted on time.

RN-C.N.A. Training Program Clinical Supervisor

Job Summary: The RN Clinical Supervisor assists instructors in overseeing students enrolled in the C.N.A. Training Program at Kankakee Area Career Center. Responsibilities include supervising students on campus, during transportation, and while performing patient care skills at clinical sites. The role is essential in facilitating student learning of subject matter and the 21 mandated C.N.A. skills required by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH). The Clinical Supervisor also serves as a professional role model, supporting students in their career development, maturity, and responsibility.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Follow established curriculum set by IDPH and KACC C.N.A. instructors.
• Assist with development of student lesson plans, if requested.
• Support students in learning and refining their mandated 21 C.N.A. skills in both lab and clinical settings.
• Document student progress according to IDPH standards and maintain accurate records.
• Provide input on student readiness for the C.N.A. certification exam.
• Create and maintain a positive, safe, and effective learning environment.
• Promote high standards of classroom and clinical site management.
• Ensure safety of students, equipment, and facilities.
• Provide regular student assessments and progress updates to classroom instructors.
• Collaborate with KACC office staff to ensure IDPH documentation is submitted within required timelines.
• Participate in faculty and staff meetings as requested.
• Maintain and improve professional competence through continuing education.
• Perform other duties as assigned by program instructors.

Education, Knowledge, and Skills

• Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois
• Current or eligible for IDPH Instructor Approval Code
• Experience in extended care
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with young adults (ages 1619)
