Job summary

John Muir Health Nursing seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Endoscopy Unit. The RN provides and coordinates care for a group of patients during a shift, guided by California Nurse Practice Act and John Muir Medical Center Standards of Care.

Candidates must graduate from an accredited nursing program, hold a California RN license, and maintain BLS and ACLS certifications. Endoscopy competency and ability to serve as relief charge nurse are required; variable start 0800-1000; hourly

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing Required.
• RN - California license required; BLS and ACLS certifications.
• 6 months acute care nursing experience preferred; 2000 endoscopy hours within last 3 years.

The staff registered nurse (RN) is a licensed professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for planning, delegating, and coordinating the nursing care of a group of patients during a designated time frame utilizing the John Muir Medical Center Standards of Care, ANA's Standards of Practice and Professional Performance, and the California Nurse Practice Act, Title 22, and Title 16. The RN coordinates and provides care through the therapeutic use of self, nursing process, and the environment and technology, in partnership and collaboration with interdisciplinary team members.

Education:

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing Required

Experience:

• 6 Months Nursing - Acute Care Preferred
• 2000 hours Nursing - Endoscopy Must be Obtained within last 3 years - Core Requirement

Certifications/Licensures:

• RN - Registered Nurse - Current California License Required
• BLS - Basic Life Support - Certification Required
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Required
• Rhythm Recognition and Treatment Exam - Must Pass Required
• Approved Cardiac Rhythm Test – Internal Candidates Must Pass Prior to Applying for Position (must be proctored in Human Resources) – Required

• Must meet competency standards for all endoscopic procedures and other tests performed in the Endoscopy Unit.
• Must be able to assume role of relief charge nurse.

Pay Range:

$85.34 - $116.28HourlyOffer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure. Pay will be adjusted to the local market if hired outside of the Bay Area . Note: Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting. The work shift will contain the word ‘exempt’ on it.
