Job Overview

Allegheny General’s 11A Unit is a 24-bed cardiac telemetry unit specializing in advanced heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, LVAD, and post-procedural cardiac care. The unit is accredited for these specialties and is part of a leading Level I Shock Trauma Center with state-of-the-art facilities.

Responsibilities

• Direct and provide professional nursing care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Coordinate daily clinical and operational activities of the unit.
• Monitor and improve quality and patient satisfaction measures.
• Serve as a clinical expert and role model, mentoring staff performance.
• Communicate effectively to foster professional relationships and achieve desired outcomes.
• Utilize the nursing process to develop and coordinate patient care plans for adult populations.
• Ensure appropriate staffing levels and mix to optimize operations.

Qualifications

Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent experience, current Pennsylvania RN license.

Preferred: BSN, 3+ years in clinical specialty, supervisory experience, and relevant certifications.

Additional Information

Full-time, 72 hours every two weeks, rotating shifts, non-union position. The role adheres to ethical standards, confidentiality, and compliance policies including HIPAA and company privacy policies.
