Office Location: Pasadena, MD
Coverage Area: Anne Arundel, Prince George’s, Charles and Calvert Counties
Status: Full-time
Schedule: 4 10-hour shifts, 8am – 6:30pm with rotating weekends.
Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience, education and credentialing
- Functions as a role model in area of clinical specialty, demonstrating competency in clinical judgement, selected technical skills and appropriate knowledge base to lead and guide staff. Demonstrates clinical expertise in the execution of the nursing process and directs staff in its application to promote safe, effective and appropriate care.
- In conjunction with the Clinical Manager, supervises, evaluates and mentors staff assigned to Rapid Response, including creating and overseeing a plan of professional development for each staff member to ensure up-to-date credentials and compliance with certification and licensure requirements. Prepares and delivers staff evaluations in a timely manner. Establishes and oversees completion of individual performance improvement plans as necessary.
- Evaluates the quality of patient care through direct staff observation and review of nursing documentation, review of medical records and patient feedback.
- Conducts supervisory visits for the staff.
- Ensures that staff is familiar with and adheres to Hospice of the Chesapeake policies and procedures.
- In conjunction with the Clinical Manager, ensures 7 day/week leadership coverage for Rapid Response team, including rotating weekend coverage.
- Other duties as assigned.

We are currently seeking a dedicated, compassionate Nurse-Supervisor to join our Team! This Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership to the Rapid Response staff and oversight of all aspects of services provided to patients and caregivers.

Qualifications
Your Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school required; bachelor’s degree in nursing strongly preferred. Possess a current, active and unencumbered Maryland nursing (RN) license.
- Minimum five years of nursing experience in a medical/surgical or home care setting required; previous hospice experience strongly preferred.
- Minimum one year of supervisory experience preferred
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated emotional maturity and ability to cope and work effectively in stressful situations.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance and other community programs and resources.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively on an inter-disciplinary team.
- Excellent customer service philosophy and skills required.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
- Basic computer skills, to include but not limited to Microsoft Word and Outlook, required.
- Demonstrated understanding of and concurrence with the hospice philosophy of palliative care.
