Job summary

UNC Health in Clayton, NC is seeking a per diem nurse for the FLEX department. The role involves staying informed on critical patients, monitoring bed availability, and coordinating admissions/transfers across campus facilities. Five years of previous experience is desired.

Responsibilities

Keeps informed of critical patients, police cases, and media interest cases throughout the hospital.
Monitors bed availability and assists in admissions and transfers.
Supports staff in staffing decisions with Clinical Manager.
Responds to emergency situations per procedures.
Represents Rex Healthcare to keep Executive staff informed on activities/ incidents.
Keeps informed of current policies to be a resource to staff.
Monitors hospital-wide activity and provides assistance as needed.
Maintains a shift report detailing restraint use, sitters, and unit activities.
Reviews transfer forms for accuracy and EMTALA compliance; maintains transfers log.
Adheres to ANA Code of Ethics; participates in performance and quality improvement.
