Overview

The Clinical Nursing Practice Specialist is a shared position and the nurse is required to hold another part time role as a clinical nurse in another department within the Carle Health system. The clinical practice specialist is a high performing clinical nurse well versed in the nursing process, the Illinois Nursing Practice Act, and the scope and standards of nursing. This nurse is responsible for advancing and maintaining best nursing practices in a variety of practice settings. The practice specialist will create strong structures and processes through policy management and standardization of nursing procedure to facilitate the advancement of patient care. The practice specialist will coordinate and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure execution of best practices to improve patient outcomes and experience.

Qualifications
  • National Nursing Certification within 6 months (varies)
  • Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • Relevant work experience in nursing
Responsibilities
  • Advance nursing practice across Carle Health settings (acute, ambulatory, procedural, community)
  • Foster implementation of evidence‑based practice
  • Assist in development of policies and procedures in clinical areas to establish standards for nursing practice
  • Use new clinical evidence to update nursing policy, practice, and workflow
  • Assist in standardizing practice across Carle Health sites, as appropriate, and in alignment with best practices
  • Work extensively with unit partnership councils, professional governance councils, and other collaborative groups to address practice concerns and improve patient outcomes and experience
Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $38.81 per hour – $66.75 per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked, and compensation model.
