HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) for the PCU. This role leads nursing care coordination, supports management in policy adherence, and serves as a staff resource to elevate patient outcomes.

The CNC will direct unit staff, participate in care conferences, and ensure timely care delivery while maintaining clinical excellence and safety.

Qualifications

• Florida RN license required or approved multistate license.
• BLS-AHA Provider card required within 30 days of start
• ACLS and PALS certifications must be obtained within 6 months
• Neonate Resuscitation must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• 2 years acute care RN experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee unit staff roles.
• Coordinate patient placement according to acuity, skill mix and staff availability.
• Identify educational needs of the unit.
• Participate and direct patient care conferences, including discharge planning.
• Ensure rounds are made with physicians.
• Monitor patient conditions and make timely clinical decisions.
• Ensure orders are appropriate and carried out promptly.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) delivers high quality, patient-centered care and coordinates all functions in the unit. In partnership with the management team, the CNC monitors and evaluates nursing care in accordance with established policies. The CNC serves as a resource for staff and supports an unparalleled patient experience.

What you will do in this role:

• Accept accountability for directing and overseeing staff roles on unit.
• Coordinate patient placement within the unit according to acuity, skill mix and staff availability.
• Assist in identifying and addressing educational needs of the unit.
• Participate and direct patient care conferences, addressing such issues as patient discharge needs.
• Assures that rounds are made with physicians.
• Keep informed of patient condition changes, making appropriate clinical decisions.
• Accountable for orders, assuring that they are appropriate and carried out in a timely manner.

What qualifications you will need:

• Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required. Compact license holders have 60 days to obtain the Florida license after relocation.
• BLS-AHA Provider issued card required within 30 days of start
• 2 Years acute care RN experience preferred
• NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Bachelors Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma, or Associate Degree
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support, or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Adv Life Support, or PALS Instructor must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
