Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's Optum unit is seeking a Clinical Nurse Liaison, RN, to educate patients and support the sales strategy by processing infusion referrals within hospital systems. This role requires clinical expertise, customer service focus, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Remote work is available for the Western US with up to 50% travel within the territory and occasional overnight trips.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license in the state of practice (California)
• 2+ years of experience working with laptops and/or tablets
• 1+ years of experience in a Clinical Liaison role
• 1+ years of leadership and/or management experience
• 1+ years of clinical educator experience
• Ability to travel within local assigned territory up to 50% and occasional overnight travel

Responsibilities

• Conduct welcome calls and provide patient education on therapy, monitoring, and side effects; ensure patient is provided with updates and tools for successful infusions
• Maintain and grow provider relationships with assigned accounts and provide responsive customer service
• Conduct initial clinical assessment based on provided information
• Assist in creating letters of medical necessity and overturn denials
• Assist sales to ensure referrals start care
• Lead clinical liaison team with regular 1:1 check-ins and development calls
• Lead meetings to foster a positive team culture and share best practices
• Coordinate hiring and onboarding of Clinical Liaisons with Sales leadership
• Provide field training alongside liaisons as directed by leadership
• Collaborate with regional leadership on growth strategies and initiatives
• Manage metrics for defined roles and responsibilities
