Job summary

Qualifications

• New York State License for Registered Professional Nurse and current registration or valid permit to practice in New York State as an RN required.
• Certification preferred in specialty or efforts to achieve certification.
• BSN degree required and 5 years' clinical experience, two of which must be in the specialty or related service; or combination of education and experience acceptable to Clinical Director of Nursing or designee.
• BLS and ACLS required.
• NYS Infection Control Certificate required.
• Demonstrates clinical leadership, problem-solving skills, competency, and principles of Montefiore Excellence.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates leadership skills in the coordination and delivery of patient care.
• Systematically assesses the health care of patients/families and responses to care rendered.
• Demonstrates critical thinking skills to problem solve and initiate clinical decision making.
• Evaluates patient progress toward health goals and modifies critical path or plan of care accordingly.
• Develops, coordinates, and provides direct care for specific patient assignments.
• Provides safe environment for patients/families.
• Provides comprehensive direct patient care to assigned patients.
• Communicates effectively with patient/family and members of the health care team.
