Job summary
NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn is seeking a Registered Nurse Instructor to lead orientation and education for new staff across Med/Surg, Critical Care, and/or Emergency Department. The role develops educational programs, teaches required courses, and conducts ongoing competency assessments as part of performance management.
The candidate must hold NYS RN licensure with 4–5 years of nursing experience and 2–3 years in the specified specialties.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Nursing required.
- Four to five years of recent full-time nursing experience.
- Two to three years in Critical Care, Med/Surg or Emergency Department.
- Licensed and currently registered as a NYS Professional Nurse.
- Demonstrates commitment to continuing professional development.
Responsibilities
- Creates spreadsheets, reports and templates for Site Leadership.
- Pl anned and analyzed educational programs based on evidence-based standards.
- Provides orientation and assesses staff competency during onboarding.
- Teaches required courses and provides in-service training.
- Maintains attendance sheets, program evaluations and staff evaluations.
- Serves as a consultant to nursing staff on policy and evidence-based practices.
- Coordinates with Nursing Education leadership on staff development.
