Overview

Summary:

Presbyterian is currently hiring a Nurse Clinical Educator to join our Clinical Education Team to support our Emergency Department Nurse Residency and Fellowship Programs!

The RN Educator serves as consultant, researcher, instructional and evaluation designer, clinical practice expert, and interprofessional collaborator supporting the clinical development needs of staff throughout the Presbyterian enterprise.The RN Clinical Educator supports the educational components of the organizations clinical initiatives and practices and playsa pivotal role in the design, implementation, and evaluation of our Nurse Residency and Fellowship Programs. This individual will collaborate with nursing leadership, academic partners, and clinical teams to ensure evidence-based, high-quality education that supports clinical competence, professional development, and retention.

Qualifications

Licensure: State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing required or Multistate-Compact Out of State RN License.

Academic Preparation: Bachelors Degree in Nursing required. (Masters and Doctoral Degrees in Nursing, Nursing Education, Education, Instructional Design, informatics Business, Leadership, Informatics, or Administration preferred).

Specialty Certifications: Specialty certification in nursing, informatics, education or equivalent certification preferred

Professional Requirements/Emergency Response:

BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, and other emergency response certification may be required depending upon area of assignment

Experience: Minimum At least 3 years of clinical care expertise required in clinical specialty. Emergency Department and Critical Care experience preferred.

**In lieu of the 3 years experience, completion of an accredited nurse residency program, 1 year of Clinical Practice Lead experience, or prior educator experience

Responsibilities
  • Develop, coordinate, and facilitate orientation, onboarding, and ongoing education for nurse residents and fellows.
  • Serve as a mentor and coach to new nurses, fostering a supportive learning environment.
  • Evaluate program outcomes and use data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to align educational initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Stay current with best practices in nursing education, accreditation standards, and clinical trends.
