Job summary

Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Illinois is seeking an RN Clinical Educator to lead clinical training and develop performance-based learning experiences that support Nursing departments. The role collaborates with Quality Management and Clinical Director, coordinates education and competency assessments, and drives safety, infection control, and quality standards across clinics.

Qualifications

BSN degree is required.
Illinois Registered Nurse license is required.
PALS and BLS certifications within 90 days of hire.
ACLS certification within 90 days of hire.
CPR/BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Collaborates with Quality Management and Clinical Director – RN as assigned.
Consults and collaborates with other Clinical Educators, Office Assistant Educator, Registration Educator, nurses and other disciplines to ensure appropriate clinical staff education and follow-up.
Develops and coordinates clinical education and competency evaluations for patient care personnel in the assigned division; validates competency for staff upon hire and annually thereafter.
Establishes stability and reduces variance in operations and procedures related to clinical quality; promotes and utilizes Quality Improvement principles and methods to achieve high quality care and services.
Evaluates progress toward attainment of goals and outcomes; reports data and outcomes to others as appropriate.
Implements care or work plan in alignment with the plan and approved safety, infection control, and department/organization standards.
Actively pursues required knowledge and skills through orientation activities, reading current literature and seeking new learning opportunities.
Develops a plan that prescribes strategies to attain expected, measurable outcomes.
Establishes effective working relationships with peers, physicians, and other members of the health care team; identifies and confers with appropriate resources regarding patient/work decisions.
Responds to appropriate requests and initiatives from Administration, other Directors and Managers, physicians, and staff to improve and/or expand clinical services.
Responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of departmental policies, procedures, protocols and standards to maintain high clinical quality.
Employs teaching strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
