The Clinical Coordinator (CC) functions as a clinician, educator, resource person, performance improvement coordinator, and mentor. In collaboration with the Nurse Manager, the CC monitors staff competency and provides clinical support to ensure quality patient care. The CC is a leader, role model, change agent, advocate, and cost-effective coordinator. Responsibilities include coordinating in-service education on new technologies, systems, procedures, and competency-based education, as well as developing and implementing unit-based orientation, annual skills fairs, new care standards, protocols, policies, procedures, and analyzing PI data. The CC supports unit leadership and upholds the nursing philosophy, mission, vision, and values of Houston Healthcare through participation in committees. They also assist in planning and implementing strategies to meet regulatory and patient safety standards.
