Job summary

Summa Health System in Akron, OH seeks an experienced registered nurse to oversee clinical aspects of the practice, patient flow, lab and radiology results, and appointment scheduling. This role ensures continuity of care and educates patients following established standards.

The position promotes collaboration with the Practice Manager, supervises clinical staff, and supports day-to-day clinic operations. Requires ADN or BSN, Ohio RN license, and two years of clinical experience; CCNE/ACEN

Summary

Oversees all clinical aspects of the practice, including, but not limited to patient flow, orders, lab and radiology results, patient education, appointment and surgery scheduling, pre-authorizations and pre-certifications. Makes sure that the continuity of care is maintained in obtaining previous patient medical data. Provides general nursing care to patients in physician office following established standards of practice. In conjunction with Practice Manager, supervises clinical personnel and facilitates day-to-day operations within the practice structure as it relates to clinical staff.

Formal Education Required

• Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) required, BSN preferred
• Graduate of a program of professional nursing that is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)
• Current license to practice registered nursing in the State of Ohio

Experience And Training Required

• Two years of clinical experience.

Other Skills, Competencies And Qualifications

• Certification in Nursing specialty preferred.
• Population Specific Competency: ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.
