Job summary

Chesapeake Regional Healthcare seeks an experienced RN Clinical Coordinator to maintain quality patient care under the Nurse Manager’s guidance. You will act as Charge Nurse, supervise shifts, and coordinate education with the Nurse Educator to ensure smooth unit operations.

Requires BSN (or pursuing), 2+ years in a supervisory role, and Virginia RN licensure with BLS/ACLS/PALS. CPAN preferred. Position supports staff development and effective patient throughput.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing or actively pursuing BSN.
• 2+ years' supervisory experience in a specialized area with Charge Nurse responsibilities.
• Current Virginia RN license and BLS/ACLS/PALS certification (CPAN preferred).

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise patient care during assigned shifts.
• Make rounds to ensure current clinical patient care standards are met.
• Analyze workload to determine staffing needs and coverage for call-ins.
• Coordinate patient transfers, admissions, and discharges for throughput.
• Assign beds and patients based on staff competence.
• Report unit activities and needs to the Nurse Manager.
• Foster teamwork and mentor students, new hires, and unlicensed staff.
• Assist with staff development plans in collaboration with the Nurse Educator.
