Job summary

Tampa General Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Clinic Risk Manager to join our safety and quality team in Tampa, FL. The role focuses on patient safety programs within Infection Control, Risk Management, and Medication Safety, with collaboration across departments to optimize practices and investigate safety reports.

The ideal candidate will have a BSN and Florida nursing license, plus certifications in patient safety or related fields.

Qualifications

• BSN required and Florida Nursing License in good standing.
• Certifications in Ambulatory Care Nursing, Care Coordination & Transition, Telehealth Nursing or Case Management preferred.
• Certified Professional in Patient Safety or equivalent certification.
• Background in patient safety, quality, infection prevention, risk management, regulatory, clinical accreditation, organizational integrity, and healthcare compliance.

Responsibilities

• Partner with clinical leadership in Infection Control, Risk Management and Medication Safety to identify and analyze risks (e.g. safety reports, injuries, near misses, patient complaints).
• Develop risk management controls and contingency plans.
• Communicate recommendations to management.
• Meet productivity expectations independently.
• Utilize behavioral interviewing and active listening to address patient concerns and explain policies clearly.
• Work autonomously while coordinating with team members for in-person meetings as needed.
• Demonstrate strong writing, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Utilize Epic, RL and Excel to support risk management activities.
• Collaborate with diverse stakeholders including patients, care teams and payors to drive safety improvements.
