Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: none specified beyond licensure requirements.
  • Minimum Experience: at least 3 years of professional nursing experience.
  • Continuing Education: 20 hours annually (or 15 hours plus ACLS, or 10 hours plus specialty cert; or 10 hours plus ACLS instructor).
  • Licensure: Valid Tennessee RN license with annual in-services are required.

Responsibilities

  • Correlates patient history and support systems within hospital or nursing home care.
  • Assesses patient and family needs.
  • Develops and initiates plan of care with patient and family.
  • Recommends interventions and evaluates plans.
  • Resolve complex patient/management/physician problems without supervision.
  • Demonstrates age-specific nursing competencies and clinical skills.
  • Leads unit-based process improvement or participates in facility teams.
  • Precepts new employees or students and reviews performance.
  • Provides four contact hours of education, excluding basic patient education.
  • Contributes to development and evaluation of unit orientation.
  • Supervises LPNs and performs other duties as assigned.

Position Summary:

Provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit; coordinates care planning with other disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Leads process improvement initiatives in their own unit or participate in facility team.
  • Precepts new employees/students or attends formal preceptor workshop and is willing to precept. Reviews clinical performance of preceptee with unit leader or clinical instructor.
  • Provides four contact hours of educational activities, excluding basic patient education.
  • Contributes to development and evaluation of unit orientation program.
  • Supervises LPNs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications

Minimum Education:

None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.

Minimum Experience:

Minimum of three (3) years professional experience.

Continuing Education:

Twenty (20) hours required annually (10 to enhance clinical expertise); or Fifteen (15) hours required annually, plus ACLS certification; or

Ten (10) hours required annually, plus specialty certification; or

Ten (10) hours required annually, plus ACLS instructor.

Licensure Requirement:

Valid Tennessee RN license. Yearly infection control, fire, safety and CPR in-services are required
