Covenant Medical Group is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Weisgarber outpatient clinic in Knoxville, TN. This full-time, day-shift role involves providing professional nursing care in an outpatient setting and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, triage, assisting physicians, maintaining patient records, and ensuring a safe, efficient clinic environment. Tennessee RN license, CPR, and OSHA training are required annually.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet license/certification requirements.
• Minimum Experience: Prefer at least one (1) year of professional nursing experience.
• Licensure Requirement: Must have a valid Tennessee RN license. CPR and OSHA training annually.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program and safety standards.
• Cooperates with other personnel to achieve department objectives and maintain good employee relations, infection control policies.
• Prepares patients for scheduled procedures and assists in patient assessment. Records history and performs basic triage per policy.
• Retrieves initial patient condition, creates nursing history and reports to the practitioner.
• Demonstrates AIDET communication to ensure patient comfort and privacy.
• Assists providers with examinations, procedures and other direct patient care tasks.
• Maintains a safe, comfortable environment for patients/families during visits.
• Monitors and maintains accuracy of patient medical records and reports.
• Ensures adequate stock of supplies and well-maintained equipment.
• Inspects area for compliance with policies/regulations and takes corrective action when needed.
• Schedules outside patient appointments per physician order and relays to patients.

Position Summary:

Provides professional nursing care within an outpatient clinic setting.

• Prepares patients for scheduled procedures and assists in patient assessment. Accurately records history and performs basic triage procedures per policy.
• Retrieves initial basic condition of patients, creates nursing history and reports to appropriate practitioner.
• Demonstrates sensitivity to patient's comfort and privacy by using the AIDET fundamentals of communication.
• Assists providers with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care.
• Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/families during their visit.
• Monitors and ensures accuracy of recording on patient medical records. Maintains all required reports, records, statistics, etc.
• Ensures an adequate stock of supplies and well-maintained equipment.
• Inspects area daily for compliance with policies, procedures, regulations and standards and takes corrective action when violations occur.
• Schedules all outside patient appointments per physician order and relays accurately to patients.
• Take calls from hospitals/nursing homes and relays appropriate information to practitioner in a timely manner.
• Assure test results are received and relayed to the patient in a timely manner.
• Completes medical orientation checklist.
• Initiates appropriate patient education.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members.
• Implements care appropriate to diagnosis and per physician order.
• Problem solves and coordinates clinic patient care with physician supervision.
• Demonstrates competence in performing skills to include appropriate delivery of care according to the age-specific needs of the population served.
• Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
• Collaborate with the patient, physician and other care team members as part of a team based approach to overall patient care.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
