Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse, oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Secure patient travel. Know about patient needs in healthcare. Help patients and prevent issues. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies.

Essential Functions of the Role
  1. Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs. Create, implement, and evaluate care plans. Adjust plans to reach desired outcomes.
  2. Build relationships, manage discomfort, and stay professional in therapeutic connections with patients and families.
  3. Create care plans reflecting values to aid in resolving issues.
  4. Help educate patients, families, nurses, and community members. Empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices. Assess and document learning needs regularly.
  5. Work with colleagues and community to create a care plan. Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly.
  6. Use different strategies for problem-solving with patients, families, and staff. Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery.
  7. Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, and commit to growth. Contribute to peers' development and show community service commitment.
Key Success Factors
  • A deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, procedures, laws, rules, standards, and guidelines.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology, focusing on health, disease prevention, management, common medications, and their side effects.
  • Respect for medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Positive social skills for diverse interactions.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office, electronic medical documentation, email, and information security.
