Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse, oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Ensure patient safety and follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act. Delegate tasks based on patient condition and team competencies.

Essential Functions of the Role
  1. Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs. Create, implement, and evaluate care plans. Adjust plans to reach desired outcomes.
  2. Build relationships, manage discomfort, and maintain professionalism in therapeutic connections with patients and families.
  3. Create care plans reflecting values to aid in resolving issues.
  4. Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members, empowering them with knowledge for better healthcare choices. Assess and document learning needs regularly.
  5. Collaborate with colleagues and the community to create care plans. Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly.
  6. Use problem-solving strategies with patients, families, and staff. Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency.
  7. Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, and contribute to peers' development. Show commitment to community service.

  • Deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, procedures, laws, and guidelines.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology, focusing on health, disease prevention, management, medications, and side effects.
  • Respect for medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Positive social skills for diverse interactions.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, electronic medical records, and email.
