Qualifications

Job description

The Nurse Circulator assists in providing nursing care to patients in an Ambulatory Surgical Center setting. They assume responsibility for patient care according to physician's orders and center policies. During surgical procedures, the circulator acts as an intermediary between the operating room staff and the rest of the surgical center.

Responsibilities:

1. Performs scrub functions, including selecting and handling instruments and supplies used during procedures.
2. Performs circulating functions, including monitoring, recording, and communicating patient conditions, and managing overall nursing care before, during, and after procedures.
3. Assists the operating physician with surgical tasks such as hemostasis, suturing, wound exposure, and patient positioning.
4. Prepares operating rooms, surgical instruments, and equipment for use.

Qualifications:

1. Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; current state RN license.
2. CPR and ACLS certification required.
3. Minimum of one year experience in the OR; ability to scrub and circulate preferred.
